The Members page is where you find and reach out to other Stitch members near you. It shows newest members of the Stitch community, members closest to you, and members who match your interests - all in one place. From here you can view profiles, send messages, and dismiss members you don't want to see.
To get there, select Members in the top navigation bar.
What's on the Members page
The Members page has five different sections together on one page. Each section has a blue View more button to see the full list for that section.
The five sections on the Members page are:
Newest members - Stitch members who have recently joined in your area.
Closest members - Members who live nearest to you.
Most responsive - Members with a high responsiveness rating, based on how quickly and consistently they reply to messages.
Most recently active - Members who have been active on Stitch recently.
Matched members - Members who match your companionship preferences. You can view and update your preferences from your profile settings.
Important: The Closest members section is only available to Full members. If you have a Limited membership, you can see the Closest members section listed on the Members page, but you cannot open any profiles in it.
How to navigate between sections
To jump directly to a specific section on the Members page:
Select Members in the top navigation bar to open the Members dropdown menu.
Select the section you want to go to.
The Members page loads that section directly.
How to view a member's profile
To view a member's full profile on the Members page, select their profile card on the members page. Their full profile page opens, where you can read their bio, view their interests, and send a message.
Profile card icons
Each profile card on the Members page may show one or more status icons.
Grey arrow icon, you have sent this member a message and are waiting for their reply. Select the grey arrow icon to see how long ago you sent the message.
Red numbered icon, this member has sent you a message and is waiting for your reply. The number on the red icon shows how many messages that member has sent.
Blue chain link icon, you and this member have attended a Stitch event together.
Envelope icon, you and this member have previously exchanged private messages.
How to message a member
To send a message to a member from the Members page, you have 2 options
Select the Message button at the bottom of their profile card, or
Open their profile and select the blue Message button from there.
A new message thread opens. Your daily messaging limits depend on your Stitch membership type - see the Daily limits by membership type section below for details.
How to dismiss a member's profile
To stop seeing a particular member on the Members page, select the X at the top right corner of that member's profile card.
All Stitch members can dismiss up to 50 profiles per day, regardless of membership type.
Important: Dismissed profiles cannot be manually recovered. However, a dismissed member's profile may reappear on your Members page as you make new connections or view more profiles.
Daily limits by membership type
The number of Stitch member profiles you can view and message on the Members page each day depends on your Stitch membership type. The table below shows the limits for each membership type.
Membership type | Profiles you can view per day | Messages you can send per day |
Limited | Up to 3 Community Champion profiles + 1 profile from the general directory | 1 message total - to a Community Champion, a member hosting an event you are attending, or a member attending the same event as you |
Basic | 3 member profiles | 1 message to a member from those 3 profiles; unlimited messages to members you meet through events, groups, or discussions |
Standard | Unlimited | Unlimited, subject to Stitch's community safety guidelines |
Plus | Unlimited | Unlimited, subject to Stitch's community safety guidelines |
When you reach your daily limit, a notification appears on screen to let you know.
Note: If you have a Limited membership, you can reply to messages from Full members within 48 hours of receiving them. This response does not count toward your daily messaging limit.
Important: Limited and Basic members who are Community Champions at Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond status - or who are hosting an upcoming in-person event on Stitch - receive increased daily viewing and messaging limits. This gives event organizers more reach to invite members to their events.
A Community Champion is a verified Stitch member recognized for their positive contributions to the Stitch community. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond are activity-based status levels within the Stitch Rewards program. To learn more, see About Stitch Rewards.
