Delete or deactivate your Stitch account

Learn how to temporarily deactivate your Stitch account or permanently delete it — and what each option means for your profile, connections, and data.

Written by Andrew Dowling

Sometimes life gets busy, or you simply need a break from Stitch. Whatever your reason, Stitch gives you two options: temporarily deactivate your account, or permanently delete it. This article explains both — and what each means for your profile, connections, and data.

Important: If you have an active Stitch membership subscription, you must cancel it before you can deactivate or delete your account. Go to More > Membership to cancel first.

How to deactivate or delete your account

  1. From the top menu, select More.

  2. Select Profile & Settings, then Account Information.

  3. Scroll to the Deactivation & Deletion section.

  4. Select Close your account.

  5. On the next screen, choose Deactivate or Delete depending on your situation, then select Next.

  6. Stitch will ask you to confirm your choice. If you confirm, you will be immediately logged out.

Deactivating your account

Deactivating hides your profile and removes you from search results. Other members will not be able to contact you while your account is deactivated. Your connections and account information are saved.

To reactivate, simply log back into Stitch using your email and password — no additional steps required.

Note: If you had a paid membership before deactivating, you will have cancelled it as part of the deactivation process. To reinstate a paid membership when you return, contact the Stitch support team.

Deleting your account

Deleting your Stitch account permanently removes all your profile information, connections, and activity.

Important: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You will not be able to log back in or recover any of your data. If you think you might return to Stitch in the future, choose deactivation instead.
