If someone has told you they want to join your Stitch group or upcoming activity, you can add them directly — no need to wait for them to find it and sign up themselves.
This feature is available to all Stitch group and activity organizers and co-organizers.
Why add members to my Stitch events and groups?
There are three common situations where adding a member directly saves time:
You are organizing an activity or group with a fellow Stitch member and want to add them as a co-organizer right away, without any delays.
A member has told you they want to attend your next activity — especially one that fills up fast.
You are running a series of activities (for example, language classes) and want to secure spots for returning members in future sessions.
How to add a member to your Stitch activity or group
Follow these steps to add a member to your Stitch activity or group:
Open your activity or group and select the Attendees tab (for activities) or the Members tab (for groups).
Select the blue Add new button.
Type the member's name in the search bar. If the member meets the eligibility criteria below, their profile will appear and you can select it to add them.
Once you select the member, they will receive an email notification confirming they have been added to your activity's attendee list or your group's member list.
Note: If you know the member's email address, you can type it into the search bar instead of their name.
Important: If your activity is full, you will not be able to add a member. Increase your attendee limit first, then return to add the member.
Who you can add — eligibility criteria
Before you can add a Stitch member to your activity or group, two conditions must be met.
Connection requirement — the member must meet one of the following:
You and the member are connected via private Stitch messaging (you have each sent and received at least one message).
You and the member attended the same Stitch activity together, either in person or virtually.
Membership requirement — to add a member to a regular activity, a members-only activity, or a members-only group, that member must be a verified Full member of Stitch.
Important: Only add members who have already told you they want to join your activity or group. Do not add members simply because you would like them to join. Adding someone without their prior knowledge is not permitted.
