Stitch the platform, and the Stitch Community charity
Stitch is a social enterprise — a business built to create social impact, not to maximize profit. The Stitch platform connects members, hosts activities, and sustains itself through membership fees.
The Stitch Community charity — also known as WipeOutLoneliness.org — is the registered not-for-profit organization that works alongside the Stitch platform. Its mission is to address loneliness and social isolation in people over 50.
The Stitch Community charity is recognised by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a registered not-for-profit. It has also been granted tax-exempt status in the United States by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization.
You are part of the charity
Every Stitch member contributes to the Stitch Community charity's mission — whether you realize it or not.
When you show up to an activity, organize a get-together, or simply respond to a message, you are helping build the social fabric that benefits the members who need it most. You don't need to donate money or formally volunteer to make a difference. Just by being here and participating in Stitch, you are part of the impact.
Who the charity helps
The Stitch Community charity's assistance program supports members experiencing extreme isolation, poverty, disability, or distress — those who most need connection but face real barriers to accessing it. Venue discounts for Stitch Community members
Because the Stitch Community charity is a registered not-for-profit, all Stitch members can access reduced or free venue booking fees when organizing Stitch activities.
When booking a venue, let the venue know you are organizing an activity for the Stitch Community charity. This is often enough to unlock the discount or waived fee.
