Complete your Stitch profile

How to complete your Stitch profile, get verified, and start connecting with other members.

Written by Andrew Dowling

Your Stitch profile is how other members get to know you - and it's your first step to becoming a full, connected part of the community.

Until your profile is complete and verified, you won't be able to message other members or attend more than one event. Read on to find out how to get set up, or watch the short video walkthrough below.

How to complete your Stitch profile

To complete your profile, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Profiles page on Stitch.

  2. Upload a recent photo of yourself. If you need help choosing or uploading a photo, see Choosing your profile photo.

  3. Write a short description about yourself - your hobbies, family, work, or anything you'd like other members to know. The minimum is 100 characters (roughly 1–2 sentences), but the more you share, the easier it is for others to connect with you.

  4. Follow any remaining prompts until your profile shows as complete.

Note: Once your profile is complete, you can move on to the verification step.

Completing your profile is essential on Stitch - here's why:

Attending Stitch events and activities

Completing your profile is one of the most important things you can do on Stitch. It helps other members get to know you, allows event organizers to recognize and welcome everyone who shows up, and unlocks full access to the community.

You can attend one Stitch event before completing your profile. After that, Stitch will ask you to complete your profile before booking further events.

Note: Attending an event before completing your profile is a great way to see what the community is like — but completing your profile is what lets you keep coming back.

Getting verified

Verification is how Stitch keeps the community safe and free from fraudsters and scammers.

Important: You must complete your profile before you can get verified. Without verification, you won't be able to message other members, attend Stitch events, or fully participate in the Stitch community.

You can read more about the verification process in Get verified on Stitch.

Connecting with other Stitch members

Even if events aren't for you, a complete profile is still essential. Other members browse profiles to find people with shared interests - whether they're looking for friendship, companionship, or something more.

Without a completed, verified profile, other members won't be able to find or reach out to you. Once you're verified, you can message and connect with members freely.

What a completed Stitch profile looks like

A completed profile includes a recent photo and a written description of at least 100 characters. The screenshot below shows an example of a finished profile.

Note: Your profile photo must show your face clearly so that event organizers and other members can recognize you.

How to get help

Some people get stuck on the photo or what to say about themselves, but it really doesn't need to be much.

If you're having trouble with your photo or knowing what to write, please reach out to the Stitch support team via any of these methods in this article.
