If you've registered to attend a virtual activity on Stitch, you may be wondering how you join the event when the time for the event arrives. This article outlines how to make sure your system is set up properly before the activity starts, and what to do when the time comes to join.
Overview
Virtual activities on Stitch are held in one of two ways:
Using Stitch's own Stitch Video Chat functionality
Using a third-party video solution such as Zoom
Instructions for each type of event are outlined in the sections below.
Attending a Stitch Video Chat event
If the event you are attending uses Stitch Video Chat, you don't need to install anything prior to the event.
Just open the Activity details page prior to the event, and click the "Join Now" button when the meeting starts.
You will need to enable your video and microphone just before you join, as outlined in this article. After that there is no extra configuration or installation required for any future events.
Attending a Zoom event
If the event you are attending uses Zoom, you'll need to make sure you have installed Zoom prior to the event. You can install Zoom from this web page: https://zoom.us/download
If you’re using a desktop computer or laptop, look for the “Zoom Workspace” heading. Click the download link and follow the instructions to install Zoom.
If you’re on an Android phone or tablet, look for the same “Zoom Workspace” heading. Click the link to “Download from Google Play”.
If you’re on an Apple phone or tablet, click the provided download link and you’ll be taken directly to the App Store, where you can install Zoom.
Once Zoom is installed, test that your microphone and camera are working here: https://zoom.us/test
Just before your event is due to start, open the Activity detail page for the event, and click the "Join Now" button. You will join the meeting when the event organizer starts the meeting.
