Choose the right Stitch membership plan

Compare Limited (free) and Full (paid) membership plans - Basic, Standard, and Plus - and find the right fit for you.

Written by Andrew Dowling

Not sure which Stitch membership is right for you? Stitch offers a free Limited membership and three paid Full membership plans, each suited to a different way of being part of the community. This article walks through what each plan includes so you can choose with confidence.

The short video below walks through each Stitch membership plan. If you prefer to read, the full details are in the sections below.

Stitch membership types

Stitch offers two membership types:

  • Limited membership - free access to the public parts of the Stitch community.

  • Full membership - paid access to the full Stitch community, including member-only groups, events, activities, and discussions.

Full membership has three plans: Basic, Standard, and Plus. Each plan is described in detail below.

Limited membership

A Limited membership is free. It gives you access to the public areas of the Stitch community - no payment needed to get started.

As a Limited member, you can:

  • Attend public Stitch events and activities

  • Join public groups and open interest group discussions

  • Create activities and events in areas where no Stitch community exists yet

  • Receive direct messages from other members

Important:

  • If you receive a direct message as a Limited member, you have 48 hours to reply. If you do not reply within that window, the conversation will close.

  • Limited members cannot access member-only groups, events, or discussions. Those are available on Full membership plans only.

Full membership plans

A Full membership gives you complete access to the Stitch community. Full members can attend unlimited member-only events and activities, message other members, and access all member-only groups and discussions.

There are three Full membership plans:

  • Basic - for members who want to join events and activities

  • Standard - for members who want to connect with others and contribute to the community

  • Plus - for members who want the broadest range of features Stitch offers

Each plan is described in full below.

Basic membership

The Basic plan is a Full membership plan for members who want to attend Stitch events and activities without a strong focus on one-to-one connections.

Basic members can:

  • Attend unlimited member-only events and activities

  • Join member-only groups and discussions

  • Suggest new events and activities

  • Earn trust and status through the Stitch Rewards program

Note: Basic members can send a limited number of direct messages to other members via the Members page. For full details on messaging limits, see the Members page article. If connecting one-to-one with other members is important to you, consider the Standard plan.

Standard membership

The Standard plan is the Full membership plan Stitch recommends for most members. It combines full community participation with strong tools for making one-to-one connections.

Standard members can:

  • Attend unlimited member-only events and activities

  • Join member-only groups and discussions

  • Browse member profiles and welcome new members through the Members page

  • Organize and create public events and activities

  • Create Private Groups and Private Activities for closer connections with specific members

  • Earn trust and status through the Stitch Rewards program

Standard membership is a good fit if you want to be an active part of the Stitch community and build real friendships, not just attend events.

Plus membership

The Plus plan is Stitch's most comprehensive membership. Plus members receive priority support from the Stitch support team.

Plus plan features include:

  • Creating ticketed events

  • Creating Public Groups (open to all verified Stitch members)

  • Unlimited profile browsing on the Members page

  • Phone support

  • Adding any number of Limited members to their groups

If you're not yet a member of Stitch then some of the items in the table above may need a bit of explanation:

Group types: Regular vs Public vs Private

When a Stitch member creates a group, they choose one of three group types. The type determines which members can see and join the group.

  • Regular groups are available to all Full members (Basic plan and above). Any Full member can join a Regular group.

  • Public groups are open to all verified Stitch members, including Limited members. Only Plus members can create Public groups.

  • Private groups are invitation-only. Only the members you invite can see the group's events and discussions. Standard and Plus members can create Private groups.

Note: Limited members can only join Public groups - they cannot join Regular or Private groups.

Learn more about the different group types here.

Event attendees: who can come to a Stitch event

When creating an event on Stitch, the organizer chooses which members can attend. The four attendance options are:

  • Any verified Stitch members - all verified members of Stitch can attend, including Limited members.

  • Full Members + New Members - Full members (Basic and above) plus new Limited members who have recently joined. This option lets new members experience a Stitch event before committing to a paid plan.

  • Full Members Only - only Full members (Basic and above) can attend. Organizers use this option when space is limited or when they prefer a Full-member-only experience.

  • Private events - created inside a Private Group. Only members of that Private Group can see or attend the event.

Note: Only the event organizer can set the attendance type. This is chosen when the event is created and cannot be changed by attendees.

Browsing profiles on the Members page

The Members page is where you find and contact other Stitch members near you for one-to-one connection. The Members page shows you:

  • New members in your area

  • Members who live closest to you

  • Suggested members based on shared interests and other factors

Limited and Basic members can browse a limited number of profiles on the Members page. For full details on browsing limits, see the Members page article.

Standard and Plus members get unlimited access to the Members page and can reach out to any member directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Stitch membership plans, including how pricing works, the free Limited membership, canceling or switching plans, refunds, and international transaction fees. If you don't see an answer to your questions here, check out the rest of our help articles on the Stitch Help Center, or via the Contact Stitch menu inside the Stitch app.

Why are the annual plans so much cheaper than the monthly plan?

Stitch annual plans are priced lower than the monthly plan because lasting connections take time to build.

The best Stitch relationships grow through shared activities and community engagement - not from browsing profiles. Annual membership gives members the time to get involved, meet people in context, and get the most out of the Stitch community.

Stitch prices annual plans attractively to make it easier for members to commit to a full year and increase their chances of forming real, lasting connections.

Can I try Stitch for free before joining?

Yes - Stitch's free Limited membership lets you join the community at no cost, for as long as you like.

As a Limited member you can:

  • Attend public Stitch events and activities in your local area

  • Meet other Stitch members and see how the community works

  • Organize activities in your area without needing a paid membership

If Stitch isn't fully active in your area yet, your Limited membership stays free until the community around you grows. You'll be among the first to hear when members near you start organizing groups, events, and activities.

If you enjoy the community and want to support what Stitch is building, a paid membership is always available. but it's entirely your choice.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your Stitch membership renewal at any time.

To stop your membership from renewing at the next billing date:

  1. Go to the Membership page in your Stitch account.

  2. Select Manage Subscription

  3. Select the option to cancel your renewal.

Note: Canceling your renewal means your membership continues until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after that.

Can I switch between membership types?

Yes, you can switch your Stitch membership plan at any time.

To change your current plan:

  1. Go to the Membership page in your Stitch account.

  2. Select View more membership plans

  3. Choose the new plan you want.

Note: If you switch from a monthly plan to an annual plan mid-cycle, confirm whether any proration or credit applies before completing the switch.

The Full membership isn't for me, can I get a refund?

Stitch offers a full refund within 7 days of purchase or renewal.

If you joined or renewed your Stitch Full membership within the last 7 days and want a refund, you are eligible to request one. You can read the full Stitch refund policy for details on how to submit your request.

Note: Refund requests made after the 7-day window cannot be processed.

Are there any other fees and charges?

Stitch does not charge any fees beyond the membership price shown on the Stitch website.

However, if you live outside the United States, your bank may add an international transaction fee when your membership payment is processed. This can happen even when Stitch charges you in your local currency.

Not every bank applies this fee, and Stitch does not control whether your bank charges it. If you want to check whether your bank charges international transaction fees, contact your bank directly before purchasing.

Stitch is working to introduce a new payment provider that will remove this issue in the future.
